Veterinary Diagnostics in New Glarus, WI
Our veterinary diagnostics in New Glarus include an in-house laboratory and digital radiography. These tools play a vital role in the care of your pets. Since pets can’t tell us how they’re feeling, we use lab work and X-rays to give them a voice. They help us with determining your pet’s baseline health, as well as provide early detection for disease.
Our In-House Lab
Our in-house lab enables us to run baseline diagnostics and disease screenings. By understanding your pet’s baseline blood work, we can better detect abnormalities. Disease screenings help us with early detection, so we can treat your pet sooner before its condition worsens.
Tests we include:
- Complete blood counts
- Blood chemistry panels
- Heartworm testing
- Fecal tests
- Cytology (skin testing) and other basic microscopy
- Tick-borne disease testing
X-rays give a clear view of your pet’s skeletal structure and their abdominal cavity. We use radiographs frequently for suspected fractures, ingested foreign bodies, issues regarding gait, and more. Digital X-rays are far superior to their film predecessors in several ways, including:
- Developing clearer images with a higher contrast
- Using significantly less radiation
- Taking far less time to take the image
- The ability to save the image as a digital file and send it to specialists if needed
